I'm still trying to digest all the info about the JWs and the Nazis. Sorry about my nasty comment. Just realized your strong language about firing and sueing a healthcare worker was directed at Gopher and not me.

Actually, I'm not at all surprised by your last post to me. Pretty strong language there!
I checked into your history a bit and took note of your power trip over your ex as regards the memorial night. Wow! You are quite the task-master!

Before we go any further here, would you mind telling me exactly what religious beliefs you follow? It's difficult to converse with someone who doesn't believe in the basic tenets of the bible.
You really lost me when you said the WT said they would back Hitler. That's about as far out as it gets.

Kenneson:
Now you read James 1:26 please. "If any man seems to himself to be a formal worshiper ---" This means the man is a follower of Jesus and must obey the law of Jesus. The orphans and widows are in the mans congregation, not the general public. There is nothing wrong with helping the general public also, but the primary care is for fellow worshipers.

Not only myself, but most of the witnesses I know, on a regular basis donate to charities. It is mostly done in secret as I feel it should be. Same as at the hall, no one knows what anyone else gives.
This is the first time I've ever heard mention that witnesses criticize SA or anybody else for helping the poor. When this subject began, I asked Gopher why he only mentioned the Jehovah's Witnesses in the article where 20 or so other groups were mentioned. That was no criticizism of the SA.
Your last three sentences are contradictory to me. You'll have to spell it out better. You say spiritual food IS more important and then say witnesses shouldn't live in glass homes. I DON"T criticize SA for helping the poor (feeding) but foremost, they are a religion so religion should come first.

I think you are well aware that with Jehovah's Witnesses, God's laws take priority over mans laws. As the article Blondie posted shows, it is a matter of conscience to a point. If after talking to the patient and they do not go to the elders, it is the responsibility of the staffer to tell the elders. It is a command to keep the organization clean. If I was going to get fired here, I'd rather it be for keeping a clean conscince.

You are not naive enough not to see the difference here. Letting an elder know if a fellow Christian is about to do something against bible principals is a BIT different than broadcasting a patients business in a public newspaper.

I was ready to wash my hands of this site but looked in for a quick glance and here goes again.
Why are you SO concerned that the man in question lives or dies. Does every news story get you SO riled? If he spent every cent he had on Lego Blocks and was a catholic, would you care? AND the nurse is unethical to talk about ANYpatient. Where I live, said nurse would lose his/her license.
Your reference to Moscow is frightening. Shades of Hitler?
Your slant on teen suicides is bit over the top.
I consider those of the annointed as my brothers.
Do you understand that the centurian lived in bible times and we actually live in the present? This is a different era and Jesus and his disciples are no longer on the earth? As I said the ones then had healing powers that aren't here today. The holy spirit DOES direct the gathering today, but no man has the poweres they had in Jesus time.
I repeat, we all know God in the bible is Jehovah.
Now read Mark 10 : 22 - 30. What you started there is a prelude to Jesus parable about a rich man entering into the Kingdom. You remember about the camel and the eye of a needle.
I've never seen the WT make anybody poor. I grew up SO poor, you would find it hard to believe. My mother started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses and we had a steady incline in our resources ever since. So don't talk to me about poor. And, yes, some of my income does go to help the poor, I just don't usually feel I have to explain.

Having had some experience with the Salvation Army, your point about someone they've fed being more receptive to their message --- doesn't happen. Street people will use anyone they can and the SA is well aware of this.
You are wrong to speculate about my being under mind control; just as I'd be wrong to say that you have no hope of redemption. My common sense is quite good and I use it daily. That's also why I study the scriptures daily to make sure they make sense.
I do wish you all well and say 'goodbye'

Your name describes very well how you feel about witnesses. I'm sorry for your experiences but the mission of the witnesses is first to serve Jehovah. While catholics and the SA offer physical help to anyone, I consider the good news of the kingdom, offered to everyone of most importance.
As for the door to door witnessing, I guess the increase in their numbers speak for themselves.
